Johanna (Jo) Bryant, age 84, of Dorr passed away unexpectedly, and much too soon, Wednesday March 25, 2015. Jo was born March 20, 1931 in Kalamazoo, MI to Elzo and Gertrude Veenkant. Since retiring, Jo and her late husband, Richard (Dick Bryant), looked forward to their weekends up north, hunting, fishing, playing poker, and spending time with family and friends around the campfire. Jo also loved watching NASCAR, going to the casino, volunteering at Project Hope, filling her home with Native American decor, and wearing items from, what some would describe as, her "over-the-top" jewelry collection. Survivors who love her more than words can describe include: children Diana (Bob) Allen of Richland, MI, Sue Ann Nemeth of Benton Harbor, MI, Douglas (Angie) Santee of Kalamazoo, MI, Kellie (Ed) Vandermolen of Hudsonville, MI, and John Bryant of Hudsonville, MI; brother John (Betty) Veenkant of Richland, MI; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; best friend Betty Merrifield, and trusted companion, Bo Sansombut. Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dick Bryant, and her son-in-law, John Nemeth. All who were blessed to know Jo are invited to attend a celebration of her life from 4:00-6:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1 at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home located at 4330 18th St. Dorr, MI 49323. Donations can be made in Jo's name to the charity of your choice. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.kubiakcook.com.
